Carnegie Institution Wedding
This lovely Carnegie Institution wedding took place in December! But it was an unseasonably warm day, in spite of the holiday spirit.
We started the day at the Hay Adams where the bridal prep happened. The bride had a beautiful suite where she spent some time with family and friends as they all got dressed for the big day! The Hay Adams hotel has a beautiful view of the White House.
Once the bride and groom were ready, we headed to the church for their lovely Catholic ceremony. They chose Holy Rosary Catholic Church in downtown Washington DC for their ceremony. The full nuptial ceremony lasted about an hour.
After the ceremony, we took some time for photographs of the family and bridal party. We took photos in the church and then headed to a local park for outdoor photos. We managed to find a few trees with autumn leaves still clinging and the beautiful yellow foliage made a great background!
Once our time for photos was up, we headed to the Carnegie Institution of Science for the cocktail hour and wedding reception. The bride and groom made a grand entrance into the ballroom for dinner, and enjoyed toasts from their attendants between courses. They then opened the dance floor with their first dance and parent dances.
